Hello little one

Avery was so sweet and gave us many smiles during her session! She was just about 3 weeks new when mom brought her in to see me at the new studio in Claremont, NH.

All the little details matter. Tiny fingers and toes - safe and snug in a pose to capture her adorable features. I have been photographing babies for 18 years and I’m still in awe over how perfect each little darling is!

Oh Darling, you belong here….

Harlow was a model call who came in to help me record some behind the scenes footage for my website! When I saw her head of hair, I just had to have her in - what is it about a newborn with a full head of cute spikey hair!? She was mostly very awake for her session - so patience was key!

It just so happened to be around Valentines day so I knew I had to use the heart prop, and this gorgeous raspberry color drop from Freebird Proppe Shoppe. We learned that Harlow preferred to be wrapped up snug, so I followed her cues and that is what we stuck with. I have many ideas going into a session, but baby always decides what we do!

Josie is ONE!

Why sunflowers in February???

Okay, so sunflowers are not exactly in season here in the very frigid New England winter…but there is a reason!

Little Josie was born early, she had a long stay in the NICU and came home in an outfit that was covered in, you guessed it - SUNFLOWERS! I didn’t know this fact until here momma sent me a photo image after I suggested yellows for her one year session. It was meant to be and with an amazing outfit to match, it was so fun to have the beauty of summer in the studio in the winter.

Also, mom and I both cried when she came in and saw the set. As my client, I want to make this fun and exciting for you and all my design and work comes from my heart. Josie is such a special, beautiful baby and watching her grow up has been such an honor. It always amazes me how fast a year can pass, when I send a final gallery for a cakesmash it always stings a little - I will miss seeing you so often Josie!

Baby Wyatt

Welcome to the world Wyatt

A new edition and now, favorite to the studio is this sweet little swing pose. Wyatt was a dream and was very sleepy and relaxed.

A few years ago I was honored to also photograph Wyatt’s big brother Granger. It always amazes me to see genes working strong and noticing similar features with siblings. We were able to get some really sweet shots with the two of them - which with toddlers it is always a gamble if they choose to willingly participate or not!

Honestly, Wyatt was such a dream I could have spent the whole day with him. It is always fun to choose colors and work out sets but sometimes I see the baby and know that no matter what I photograph them on on or with - they will always be the beautiful focus of the image.

Louise - New Hampshire Newborn Photographer

Oh Darling Photography Welcomes Louise !

Sweet little Louise joins her family this spring! I love this adorable family and have has the pleasure of photographing both her big brothers. Now I get to witness her grow up until she turns one!

Mom wanted greens and actually - all the colors! We had to work with a mostly awake babe at the end of the session which made for some serious eye contact!

I can’t wait to have Louise back in the studio for her 6 month session. Though I will not rush time - babies grow so fast! It is always amazing to look back at each newborn session and see how tiny they are.

Ember turns ONE! - New Hampshire Newborn and Cakesmash Photographer

Ember is ONE !

Ember’s mom is also a photographer and booked this session only a few months after she was born. I was so excited when she let me know the theme was rose gold pumpkins, finding props is one of the perks of the job. I went around shopping and luckily found just about everything I needed in one stop!

We start off this traditional portraits and then move on to cake and end with a splash bath to clean up!

Sometimes babies don’t love to get messy or eat the cake, but luckily Ember loved it! She went right in after we gave her a little taste. Sometimes it takes us sticking your little ones favorite snack in the back to get the illusion of them trying it. I like to suggest going to a baker who can do these naked style cakes so the frosting isn’t too overwhelming!

This happened to be her favorite part of the session, who knew? Ember was all smiles when we let her splash around in scent free, dye free bubbles. It is the best way to clean up and (sometimes) makes for the sweetest, fun and unique images.

Welcome to the world Baby James!

Darling little James was such a dream. I am so lucky to get to snuggle these sweet babies for a few hours in the studio. I just love getting to capture such early memories of parenthood for new parents.

I know it can seem overwhelming to get dressed up for family portraits a few weeks into bringing a whole new human into your life, but you will look back and wished you did.

Kennedy turns ONE!

Kennedy - One year session

You would never guess she was crawling away from me about every 30 seconds! It is all part of the game when photographing mobile babies. Don’t worry - I have a ton of patience and usually overload on caffeine before these sessions.

Then we add cake!!

Cake time! Some babies go right for it, some are a little more hesitant. I remind parents to bring favorite snack and something to drink. We can sometimes fake the look if they really are not having it, but you can also skip the cake and go for a food that your baby loves instead!

At the end to clean up we play in a tub of bubbles!

Keeney - Maternity session

It is such an honor to be photographing the Keeney family again!! I got the pleasure of photographing their first pregnancy with little Nellie and now she is going to be a big sister! We had a blast wandering around Moody Park on a beautiful evening. I cannot wait until the new little babe is here sometime in August!

Mom is so stunning - I absolutely love her sense of style! She could rock any outfit and brought lots of choices. I love having you wear stuff from your closet - You can totally bring casual, dressy or anything you feel beautiful in! Don’t forget to accessorize and look to images you see that inspire you. Have your nails done too, as your hand will be on your belly for most shots and clearly visible.

Expecting Easton

While I’m getting ready to leave California, I wanted to shout out to my east coasters Molly, Nate and baby Easton! I got the pleasure of photographing their wedding years ago in NH, to maternity and newborn images out here on the west coast!

We had lots of fun down in Palos Verdes on the beach to capture these gorgeous maternity photos. I’m going to miss the views out here! The sunsets are to die for, if you haven’t been out to visit - I highly recommend it.

I was used to having my studio for newborns - for Easton’s shoot we did more of a lifetyle session. It was fun to try something new and different, what do you think?

We managed to get Easton to sleep for a few moments to get some posed shots :)
